CalWORKs Scholarship

UPDATED 2019/2020

This scholarship was created by a Mesa Counselor that was a CalWORKs student while attending community college. The goal is to provide extra support to students that are working hard to improve their life and their children’s lives.

To be eligible recipients must:
- Have a minimum cumulative Mesa GPA of 2.5
- Be enrolled in at least 9 units
- Have completed 12 units at Mesa
- Must be an active CalWORKS student using services through the Mesa CalWORKs office.

Immediate release of full award (May of this 2020)
Scholarship funds are available four to six weeks after scholarships are announced.

  2. 1) Tell your story. 2) How you overcame any unusual circumstances, challenges, or barriers to your success? 3) What are your personal and academic goals? 4) What have you learned about yourself as a result of your college experience, especially in reference to your personal, academic or career goals? Your essay should not exceed 500 words.
