Jan Ellis Memorial Scholarship

Jan Ellis was the heart and soul of the Mesa College dance program for over thirty years. She had knowledge, experience, and an abundance of love and support for her students and colleagues. Jan’s deep investment in her students gave them the courage and confidence to pursue their dreams. This scholarship fund was established by the Ellis Family to recognize and provide financial assistance to deserving students who are pursuing a career and has plans to continue their dance education beyond Mesa College, possibly with a career goal of teaching. In addition to her time at Mesa as an educator, Jan enjoyed a theatre career, singing, dancing, and acting in many musical productions. As a multi-passionate performer, Jan would be proud to know her scholarship will help advance the careers of any performing arts student, regardless of their focus.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have a 2.5 (C+) GPA
  • Must be enrolled at least part time at Mesa College
  • Must be returning to mesa college in the fall
  • Must major in one of the following areas: Music, Dance
  • Must have completed 12+ units at Mesa

Award funds will be disbursed:
Half Next Fall (Aug/Sept) / Half Next Spring (Feb/Mar)
Scholarship funds are available four to six weeks after scholarships are announced.
