Gustavo Romero Music Scholarship

UPDATED 2020/2021

This scholarship award was established by the Music Department, under the leadership of Professor Irvin King, to provide financial assistance to music students who excel in the areas of performance.

Eligibility Criteria:

-Must have a 2.5 (C+) GPA
-Must be enrolled at least part-time at Mesa College
-Must demonstrate financial need
-Must be returning to mesa college in the fall
-Must major in one of the following areas: Music

Award funds will be disbursed:
Half Next Fall (Aug/Sept) / Half Next Spring (Feb/Mar)
Scholarship funds are available four to six weeks after the start of the semester.

This scholarship is for students attending Mesa College in the upcoming Fall and Spring semsters. The scholarship will be applied to tuition and fees, split equally between semesters. Any remaining funds will be disbursed to the recipient during the 4th week of the semester.

Please note, it is the scholarship recipient’s responsibility to check with Student Accounting that their scholarship is ready for disbursement.

  3. Submit an original essay of the importance of music in your life, and include your goals and how music fits in with them. This essay should not exceed 500 words.
  4. Please provide a link to a video audition of your music.
  5. Please provide the name and email address of a music teacher that can give a reference for you regarding this scholarship opportunity.
  6. Show 1 more
