Operation Helping Hands Housing Insecure Scholarship

Operation Helping Hands is a 501©(3) organization dedicated to assisting the homeless and housing insecure. Our College Scholarship Program offers a $1,000 monthly stipend, paid directly to the landlord of selected housing insecure students.

We collaborate with local community colleges to identify students who have reported housing insecurity on their financial aid applications. Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or higher and be enrolled in at least 9 units. Those who meet these criteria are invited to complete an Operation Helping Hands questionnaire. From these submissions, five students are chosen for interviews with our Board of Directors.

Following the interviews, we select at least one student per semester to receive the stipend. This financial support continues through graduation as long as the student maintains the minimum requirements.
