Cher Fertig Memorial Art Scholarship

UPDATED 2025/2026

Cher is remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. She was an enthusiastic Mesa College Fine Arts Graduate, alum of the Museum Studies Program, a committed member of the Mesa College Art Gallery staff, and a wonderful artist throughout her life.

To be considered for this scholarship you:

  • Must major in one of the following areas:

  1. 2025: Your Educational Journey. Please share the following: The educational journey that led you to Mesa, including what you did before coming here and what made you decide to enroll at Mesa. Your future goals, including what you plan to do after graduation from Mesa and what your long-term career and educational goals are. Why you chose your major or field of study.   2. 2025: Resiliency Question. Please share the following: How you have exhibited resiliency in your life. Specific examples of a challenge or challenges that you have overcome. How this scholarship will have a meaningful impact on your educational journey.   3. 2025: Tell us about a particular art project that you are proud of. What are the things that you learned from it and how did it challenge you. 
  4. 2025: What is a favorite studio art, art history or other arts related class. What did you learn and what made it engaging. 
  5. 2025: How has art touched your life. What is an art experience, art exhibition that inspired you. 
  6. 2025: Students please provide images of your artwork or an example of an essay connected to the arts.
