Hunter Harris Memorial Scholarship
UPDATED 2025/2026
Hunter Harris came to Mesa College with a dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in January of 2013. The Exercise Science faculty & staff created this scholarship in his honor.
To be considered for this scholarship you:
- Must have a 3.0 (B) GPA
- Must be enrolled full time at Mesa College
- Must demonstrate service to others
- Must be transferring to a 4-year college in the fall
- Must major in one of the following areas:
Dance
Exercise Science
- Must have completed 24+ units at Mesa
Award funds will be disbursed:
Immediate release of full award (May)

- 2025: Resiliency Question. Please share the following: How you have exhibited resiliency in your life. Specific examples of a challenge or challenges that you have overcome. How this scholarship will have a meaningful impact on your educational journey. - 2025: Community Service. Please share your experience regarding ways you give back to your community, this may include volunteerism, or helping out with family, friends, church, etc. (500 words)
- 2025: Please confirm that you have completed a minimum of 1 intercollegiate sport season at Mesa College or are currently participating in an intercollegiate sport at Mesa College or participating in a Mesa College Dance Program performance.
- 2025: Please describe your involvement in the field of Exercise Science, Health Education, Dance and/or Athletics and how you have been positively influenced by these activities. (500 word limit)
