Hunter Harris Memorial Scholarship

UPDATED 2025/2026

Hunter Harris came to Mesa College with a dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in January of 2013. The Exercise Science faculty & staff created this scholarship in his honor.

To be considered for this scholarship you:

  • Must have a 3.0 (B) GPA
  • Must be enrolled full time at Mesa College
  • Must demonstrate service to others
  • Must be transferring to a 4-year college in the fall
  • Must major in one of the following areas:
    Dance
    Exercise Science
  • Must have completed 24+ units at Mesa

 


Award funds will be disbursed:
Immediate release of full award (May)

  1. 2025: Your Educational Journey. Please share the following: The educational journey that led you to Mesa, including what you did before coming here and what made you decide to enroll at Mesa. Your future goals, including what you plan to do after graduation from Mesa and what your long-term career and educational goals are. Why you chose your major or field of study.   2. 2025: Resiliency Question. Please share the following: How you have exhibited resiliency in your life. Specific examples of a challenge or challenges that you have overcome. How this scholarship will have a meaningful impact on your educational journey.   3. 2025: Community Service. Please share your experience regarding ways you give back to your community, this may include volunteerism, or helping out with family, friends, church, etc. (500 words)
  4. 2025: Please confirm that you have completed a minimum of 1 intercollegiate sport season at Mesa College or are currently participating in an intercollegiate sport at Mesa College or participating in a Mesa College Dance Program performance.
  5. 2025: Please describe your involvement in the field of Exercise Science, Health Education, Dance and/or Athletics and how you have been positively influenced by these activities. (500 word limit)
